Ugh... I completely smashed my hand so I haven't been working much at all, here's a little something :)

another blue cab in sterling setting...

I'm so happy with this setting! I really hope to get some orders for them once I share them with the pc world....I've designed it so the piece itself becomes a cutter, this solves a lot of the problems other bezels have with ruining or distorting designs on the soft clay...the cab is cured and finished apart from the setting, then popped in when finished. They hold tight and you can make a series of cabs and wear a different one everyday in the same setting...

trying to get away from the blues for a bit... :)

not sure what to charge for these..15...20$? certainly no less!

Coin Necklaces:
Handmade polymer clay donut pendants in faux rosewood and tri-coloured jade ...pendants are handformed and textured. sanded through multiple grits of sandpaper. I then antique the piece, re-cure and buff to a high shine. Pendants are strung with removable "chinese coins" and are reversible...can be worn a variety of ways.

and more... )
I know I know, my photos need some work *pouts*

I FINALLY finished the design for polyform. It's my first cane tutorial and really quite simple. I made the bracelet for my 9 year old daughter and figured I'd offer up the design and they accepted.

Yes, it's rather childish but it's meant to be :)

Image hosted by Photobucket.com I'll post a link when the tutorial is published.

Feb. 4th, 2005 @ 10:26 am on teaching nervousness

http://www.claycave.com/site/tutorials/turqtute.htm

This is the turquoise tutorial I taught last year at Morrisburg. Really the reason i'm so nervous about teaching this year. I have to keep reminding myself that it will be different...last year I taught a class I wasn't sure of, not enough experience with...I think faux work is gorgeous but I think differences are limited, I can't tell one artist's faux work from another in most cases...anyway, I wasn't prepped enough, I wasn't forceful enough to have my students pay attention and I was very uncomfortable with being alone and teaching a class of 40+...if they were sitting in seats okay, but no, they were standing around me, some on chairs, very very freaky. THis year I have an assistant and a smaller class and it's doing caning, really what I'm most comfortable with.

I'd post a faux bone tutorial but there are plently out there...perhaps my faux coral?
